Admissions Information

Marshall Christian Academy has an open admission policy; no discrimination is permitted against any student on the basis of sex, race, national or ethnic origin.  As a Christian institution, MCA reserves the privilege of setting its own standards for student conduct, dress, and scholarship.  MCA maintains the right to admit only those students who are in harmony with the standards of the school. Parents/guardians must subscribe to the statement of faith as a condition of admission. Enrollment is limited per class and grade. Late registering students cannot be guaranteed placement.

Marshall Christian Academy seeks to admit students whose parents desire a quality Christian education for their child. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the average and above average student. The school is not equipped to address the needs of students with excessive learning difficulties, discipline problems, nor those with extensive social problems. Final decisions concerning acceptance will be decided by the Administration which reserves the right to refuse admission to any student whose enrollment would not be beneficial to him/her or to MCA. Acceptance in any grade does not constitute automatic acceptance into the next grade the following year. Each student’s record will be reviewed annually for re-enrollment. All new students are accepted on a trial basis. Five Year Old Kindergarten students must be of the appropriate age of 5 by September 1 of the year in which they are enrolling.

If, after thoughtful consideration, you decide that you want your child to enroll at Marshall Christian Academy, please visit the school office to initiate the admission process. Potential students and their families must fulfill the following requirements to be considered for admission. Potential students will be assessed by the admission committee, the committee has three to five days to make a determination if a student is mission appropriate. Please note that some policies may not apply to your child. The admission requirements for MCA are as follows:

1. Students in 6th grade and above must undergo a Character Assessment Test to evaluate their personal qualities and values.

2. In 2nd grade and above, students must provide a grade-level assessment test score from a previous school or homeschool institution to assess their academic performance and determine how the school can best support their learning.

3. All new students and families must interview with the Head of School. This interview is to discuss the character and grade-level assessments and understand the school's standards and expectations for parents and students.

4. No student will be admitted to Marshall Christian if they have prior disciplinary issues, such as expulsion from another school or a long list of previous discipline markings. *(Cases with prior issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safety and integrity of our environment.)

Our objective is to cater to the needs of both students and their families. The following list outlines the vital documentation for the student's personnel file.

Admission Steps

  • Character Assessment Test: 6th - 12th grade applicants must complete a character assessment test. This test evaluates qualities such as integrity, respect, and responsibility, which are essential to our community. The results of this assessment will help us understand the applicant’s alignment with our values.

  • Placement Test: Students enrolled 2nd grade and higher will also provide a placement test to assess their academic readiness in key subject areas.

  • Required Documentation: Parents must provide the following items from the student’s personnel file:

  • Previous school transcripts

  • Immunization records

  • Recommendation letters (if applicable)

  • A signed statement of commitment to the values of MCA

  • Disciplinary History: Applicants must not have severe disciplinary issues (like expulsion) at previous schools. Cases with prior issues will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safety and integrity of our environment.

  • Interview with Head of School: All candidates must interview with the Head of School. The interview helps us understand the student’s fit within our community and allows for any questions from families.
